Hole 5

The 5th looks pretty straight forward but it’s far from that!. A good tee shot is required to miss the heather to the right and the two fairway bunkers on the left. Out of bounds can be found in the woods left and long. The second shot plays very much longer than the yardage due to the incline up towards the green - at least one club but more often two. The green has a false front making getting the club selection for the second shot even more important. The fairway cross bunker - classic Colt design - and the bunkers left and right of the green will catch any mishit shots. The green itself is like an upturned saucer and is usually one of the fastest on the course.
