Hole 10

A long testing par 4 that tends to play into the prevailing wind.  Quite a long swale covered in heather has to be carried to find the generous fairway that slopes from left to right.  The drive is semi blind and a good line from all the tees is the tall single pine in the distance.  The second shot is yet another testing one, with a cross bunker and heather covered bank to carry to reach the green.  A strategically placed bunker on the right will catch any loose second shots.  The clever play can sometimes be to lay up short of these hazards and play it as a 3-shotter, especially when into the wind.  The green is very large and two tier with a steep slope running left to right down its centre. Regardless of the pin position the shot to the green should be aimed left of the flag as the contours will tend to throw the ball to the right. Two bunkers flank the right side of the green which is generally regarded as one of the most difficult on the course, especially if your ball is on the wrong level.
