St George's Hill Golf Club
You are registering your interest in the Biennial Exchange at SGH on 16th September, with our friends from Burhill.
Handicap Index Limit of 32.0. You are welcome to sign-up if your index exceeds this, but your combined playing handicap will be calculated off this maximum.
Each tee time will contain a Team of 2 Pairs, with each pair containing a SGH and a Burhill member (with consideration to an even spread of handicaps). The format will be St. Andrew's Foursomes (actually closer to Greensomes!, the rules of which can be found below). A better ball Team Stableford total will then apply for the placings. The teams will be selected by both organisers nearer the time.
There will be prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams and if needed, countback will be applied to decide placings.
If you have any questions, please contact Jon (jon@stgeorgeshillgolfclub.co.uk).
St. Andrew's Foursomes explained.....
St. Andrews Foursomes is the name of a modified alternate shot golf format for 2-person teams.
Both golfers tee off on all holes during the round and select the best drive, but they equally divide who plays the second strokes.
And there's a catch: They have to decide before the round begins which of them plays the second strokes on odd-numbered holes, and which plays the second strokes on even-numbered holes.
Handicap allocation is 50% of the combined Course Handicaps.
